NBC Spreads Fake News About Sworn Declarations “Corroborating” Kavanugh Accuser’s Claims

A formerly-trusted media titan spread fake news Tuesday about obtaining sworn declarations from four people who allegedly corroborated reports of sexual misconduct by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

“NEW: has obtained sworn and signed declarations from 4 people who corroborate Christine Blasey Ford’s claims of sexual assault against Kavanaugh, sent to Senate Cmte,” said NBC’s Peter Alexander on Twitter.

In the first Tweet, Alexander attached two declarations that do indeed name Kavanaugh. Then, he attached a second Tweet to the thread.

“Here are the other 2 sworn declarations corroborating Ford’s claims against Kavanaugh,” he said.

The problem with the second two declarations is that they do not name Kavanaugh at all. It is impossible to corroborate a claim against a person without actually naming the person.

NBC (also known as the Harvey Weinstein Protection Network) knows this, but Alexander proceeded with the false reporting anyway, hoping that his audience would not actually look at the documents.

Here are the documents that Alexander claimed “corroborate” Ford’s story:

The first declaration is written by Adela Gildo-Mazzon. The second was written by Rebecca White:

Kavanaugh’s name is not mentioned anywhere in either of the two declarations.

Co-Founder of The Federalist Sean Davis put Alexander on blast for his fake news reporting.

“Neither of those claims mentions Kavanaugh. Can you not read, or are you just a dishonest hack?” he asked.

We’ll let our readers decide the answer to Davis’ question.
